Special Celebrations for Baba Shyam on Diwali
Chauhan informed Local 18 that this year, the temple will be adorned with flowers and feature a unique theme for the pavilion. Baba Shyam will receive a special floral decoration. Anticipating a large influx of devotees, the temple committee is making extensive preparations for the occasion. On Diwali, Baba Shyam will be worshipped with colorful flowers and special reverence.
Who is Khatushyam?
Khatushyam is the grandson of Bhim and the son of Ghatotkach, also known as Barbarik. A courageous warrior from a young age, Barbarik pleased Lord Shiva and received three invincible arrows, earning the title “Teen Baan Dhari.” During the Mahabharata war, he intended to join the Kauravas. When he possessed these powerful arrows that could alter the course of the battle, Lord Krishna approached him in the guise of a Brahmin and requested his head as a donation. Barbarik selflessly granted this wish, leading Lord Krishna to declare that in Kalyug, he would be worshipped as Shyam, providing support to his devotees.
