खाटू श्याम का इतिहास

In the history of Khatu Shyam, it is essential to know that Khatu Shyam Ji was originally named Barbarik. He was the son of Bhima, the mighty wielder of the mace, and Maurvi, the daughter of a serpent king. From an early age, Barbarik displayed the traits of a valiant warrior. Under the guidance of his mother and Lord Krishna, he mastered the art of warfare. Through intense devotion and penance to Lord Shiva, he was blessed with three divine arrows, which had the power to ensure his victory across the three worlds.m Jai Shree Shyam Baba

According to the legend of the Khatu Shyam temple, it is believed that after the Mahabharata war, Barbarik’s head was buried in the village of Khatu. For years, the burial site remained undiscovered. However, with the onset of Kaliyug, an unusual event occurred—one day, a cow wandered to the spot, and milk began to flow from its udder onto the ground. Astonished by this, the villagers dug at the site and uncovered the buried head of Barbarik, revealing the sacred relic.
